Some students want to go into depth in their exploration of the pastel medium, using the vivid array of materials and papers available. Others who already have a background in art benefit from the artist's guidance in the areas of exciting color and imaginative simplification. Her university experience also includes teaching and training students in the creative process and art therapy. For beginning students who are afraid to get started and for more experienced students who want to loosen up, a private intensive lesson can be a life changing creative process.

As a teacher, this artist is very skilled and experienced. She is clear, supportive and inspirational with eager and perhaps nervous beginners, and very focused and fluid in working with those who have more experience, including professional artists. She is known for the clarity, grace, warmth and skill that she brings to her teaching. She communicates about art in a way that promotes creativity and teaches new students to see the way an artist sees. Her longer workshops have been called "life-changing" by participants. She is now offering courses nationwide on the relationship between nature and the creative process.
